We booked a room through Expedia, but nobody was there when we arrived. We called and were told to find somewhere else. Ridiculous.

Palazzo Chintamani has become my peaceful escape. I’ve stayed several times, and after a week there I felt reborn, away from the TV and household noises we’re so used to. It’s a great place to slow down and take in nature, maybe with a good book on the terrace. The hillside stays naturally cool, so the lack of air conditioning wasn’t an issue for me. There’s no television either, but you can still enjoy the authentic feel of the past. The property is charming and cared for, and some rooms are enchanting, with frescoed ceilings. The owners are friendly and discreet, so privacy is assured. Reiki and foot reflexology are available on request. I love mountain biking, and this is an ideal place for it. Palazzo Chintamani’s simplicity and uniqueness make it feel like home. Highly recommended.
Warning, it’s been closed for two years, but booking websites still let you make a reservation.
A really beautiful place that deserves more recognition.
