A handy place to stay in the center of Olbia, especially with the parking lot. Watch out for the ZTL: enter from Via Garibaldi, avoid the narrow streets, and leave the same way. At check-in they take a €100 guarantee, which was returned the same day after we checked out, provided everything was fine. We hadn’t known about it, but it wasn’t a problem in the end. The staff were nice and breakfast was okay, though it could be better. The coffee was good. One small suggestion, a hook in the bathroom for the hand towel would be useful.

The room was clean and the location was good, but the heat made the night miserable. It stayed around 28-29°C (84 F) all night even with the AC turned all the way up, and it never blew cold air. At one point it shut off overnight, so we had to wake up at 3am to switch it on again. When we raised the issue, staff told us it was working fine. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Stay away. We found bed bugs in the bed and throughout the room, and ended up having to sleep in our car because there was nobody at the front desk at night to sort it out. The night in Olbia was ruined. I contacted the hotel about a refund, but they won’t give us one.

After our sailing trip, we spent one night at Hotel Regina Elena in September. The room was roomy and comfortable, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was good. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby and a great wine bar across the street. Once we’d left, my husband realized he’d forgotten his iPad. Before we even had a chance to call, the hotel got in touch with us. They went out of their way to arrange shipping it to our home in the US while we were about to catch a flight to our next destination. We’d happily stay here again.

We spent three days here before joining a group tour, and this homely little place made a lovely start to our trip. Our front room looked out over the Piazza, and the balcony was big enough for the two of us to sit and watch people go by. The location was convenient, breakfast was very nice with fresh ingredients and good service, and the staff did so much to make our stay memorable. I’m Australian and had travelled a long way to get here, and I enjoyed every minute. This isn’t someone from the family writing this!
