Tenuta La Parrina

The rooms aren’t at the top of my favorites list, but I love everything else about this place. Good service, good food, and a stunning location. It’s somewhere worth staying, and I’ve always loved it.

The dog’s owner had breakfast at the restaurant with the dog off leash, walking around. We were so scared that we rushed through our meal. The dog barked constantly and chased cats and people, while its owner refused to put it on a leash. We couldn’t spend even an hour at the pool or in the other shared areas. We ended up going elsewhere during the day and paying extra to use other pools. I’d planned three days here to relax and enjoy the bar, restaurant, and pool, but the stay became a nightmare. Other guests complained too, and we reported it on the first day. Staff knew what was happening but couldn’t get the rules enforced, and offered no compensation. When we left, nobody asked how the stay had been. We brought up the problem again and they only apologized.

The location is great, the antipasti buffet is amazing, and the food is generally good. This is only about the restaurant, since I didn’t stay overnight or try anything else. The menu is small, with just 2 primi and 2 secondi to choose from, and it’s mostly fish. That doesn’t make much sense for a farm restaurant advertising its own products. The menu apparently changes daily, so if you get unlucky like we and the people beside us did, there’s not much hope. There were also far too many mosquitoes, though that isn’t the restaurant’s fault.

There’s potential in the land, but it isn’t being looked after well. The place is full of flies, and the animals seem poorly cared for, especially the hens.
