Agriturismo Su Birde

Everything was homemade, and there were puppies everywhere! The food was as lovely as the family who own the place. One of the best restaurants in Sardinia, and a unique meal I’d highly recommend.

The classic tasting menu is 40€ per person and leaves you full and happy. The antipasti were phenomenal, with fresh cheeses, meats, vegetables and eggplant cream. Homemade ricotta ravioli were excellent, and the porcheddu, roast suckling pig, was cooked perfectly. Lovely outdoor seating, dogs allowed and card accepted. The last stretch of the drive is a dirt road, but I had no trouble in my low-profile car. The staff were professional and friendly. Best local, fresh Sardinian food!

We had a fantastic dinner here, with fresh, well-cooked Sardinian food and a warm welcome from the owner, Spartaco. He explained each dish as best he could, mixing English, German, Spanish and Portuguese. This was our second Agriturismo, and the service stood out. It felt homely and welcoming, like eating at a family friend’s place. The farm’s red wine was spectacular. I wish I could have taken some home. The homemade Mirto and Grappa digestives at the end were among the best we had on the island. Highly recommend. Best to message ahead to reserve dinner.

We didn’t stay overnight, just came for dinner, and wow, the value and food quality were unbelievable. It’s farm to table at its Italian best. There were amazing cured meats and cheeses, even orange-infused honey, then ricotta ravioli, classic pork with delectable crackling, tiramisu and a herby myrtle digestive to finish. Best of all was Spartaco’s company. I’m envious of the guests staying on the farm who get to enjoy this every day.
