The meat mains were all good, but the pasta lacked flavor and the portions felt small. Friends who'd eaten here many times recommended the agriturismo. Compared with other places in the area, the starters also seemed too little for five people, maybe enough for three. Perhaps it's a better visit outside the season.

The food is good, though the menu could make better use of seasonal produce. Mushroom trefie, pork shank, roast, and broad beans with chicory seem more suited to winter than summer. The place itself is lovely, clean, and well kept inside, set among the greenery of the Salento countryside. It also works well for families with children.

I chose Montenachiro for my daughter's First Communion and couldn't have picked a better spot. The setting feels like a traditional farmhouse, with nature all around and animals wandering freely. It's clean and family-friendly, and the staff are both professional and warm. A good choice if you want typical local food.
