Hotel Garni Villa Park

The room is spacious, very nice, and has all the amenities we needed. The staff are great, the location is great, and the value is very good. But we couldn’t really sleep, so I have mixed feelings. Our first room faced the main street, and we heard cars all night with the windows closed. The staff kindly arranged a room change the next day. That room was quieter from street noise, but later we could hear the next-door guests’ TV and loud talking until past midnight. We were unlucky to have such loud neighbors, yelling at each other late at night. The bed was also very hard and uncomfortable. It’s a great place, and the other positive reviews make sense. If you’re not a light sleeper, I think it’s good value for money.

We used this as a base for seceda/val gardena and could walk to both lifts. The room was great, the staff very nice, and breakfast was a nice touch.

The view from the hotel is stunning, and the location is just perfect. I stayed for 4 nights and really appreciated the service and hospitality. When I asked for an extra item, they were happy to help. The only problem was the beds. They weren’t comfortable, and even after I asked to have one changed, it still sagged and wasn’t comfortable to sleep in.

For a 3 star hotel, it deserves at least 4. I stayed on the 3rd floor in a spacious studio with a lovely sunset view. The other side probably faces the mountain peaks. There was a kitchenette with its own balcony, a bathroom with a bath/shower, and a combined bedroom and eating nook. Cooking there was easy, with 2 supermarkets nearby, one next door and another across the street. You can hear the river rushing from the room. The place felt renovated and very clean. A small annoyance was that there was no dish soap, sponge, or basic ingredients like salt or oil. I’m sure previous guests left some, as I did. When I asked, the front desk found soap and a sponge left by a previous guest. There’s also a washer/dryer, 4 euro each, and the front desk has change and might have detergent left from other guests. It’s on the main road of Ortisei, with an easy walk to the cable cars and bus stop. Highly recommend!
