Borgo Dragani

Borgo Dragani feels peaceful and relaxing, and the owners are courteous and always willing to help. The property is beautiful, with lots of care given to the details. Both inside and out, everything is kept very clean and tidy. I’d recommend Borgo Dragani to anyone wanting a comfortable, high-quality stay near the stunning Costa dei Trabocchi.

We stayed for 10 days in August in the smaller part of the villa, my husband, me, and our three dogs. The house did meet what we needed in the end, but I can’t recommend it and wouldn’t choose to return. The photos I booked from didn’t show the stained walls or the house’s poor overall condition. When we arrived on August 4, the owner had set out two large beds in the living room and kitchen, making it look like a dormitory or hospital, even though she knew there were only two of us and the one bedroom was just big enough for us. We only didn’t leave straight away because we had the three dogs with us and it was August. The cleanliness was the biggest shock. There were cobwebs and dust everywhere, and the kitchen was stained and full of crumbs. It seemed either the house had been closed up for a long time or hadn’t been properly cleaned. It wasn’t fit to welcome guests. We had to insist and raise the issue before the owner came the next day to clean. We paid €2,200 for the 10 days, which the owner said was “the price for August.” The sheets were never changed, and we got fresh towels just once, after asking. The air conditioning switch is inside the house, but we were told there’d be an extra fee for “excessive consumption.” It wasn’t clear what counted as excessive, or who decided what was normal. Shameful, to say the least.

Mrs. Dragani was the highlight of our stay. She welcomed us with such kindness and professionalism, and was always available to help with whatever we needed. We spent three nights in the splendid villa, from the 20th to the 23rd. The property is enchanting, carefully maintained, and perfectly placed for enjoying the area’s beauty and peaceful feel.

The owners were helpful and courteous, which earns an unconditional five stars. This is a beautiful, well-kept property that works especially well for a group of friends or family. The functional sleeping area upstairs can comfortably take 10 or more people, and the outdoor space is well maintained too. It’s close to the center of Ortona but tucked far enough away to offer privacy and quiet. The high level of finish throughout makes it feel more like a private residence than a guesthouse, and the overall quality is very high.
