The sea view was a real high point, but getting around was a struggle. It’s an hour’s walk to the city center, and public transport is poor. We waited two hours for a bus before hitchhiking to Sanremo. The hotel is old and under construction, and our room was small and not very clean. The bathroom was okay, though getting the water temperature right was difficult. Breakfast was acceptable, but there wasn’t much choice.

We stayed in a quadruple room with a sea view in August, and the conditions were good. The staff were very helpful, and the hotel is in a lovely spot. Breakfast was the usual Italian spread, with ham, cheese, bread, eggs, jam and more. The main drawback was having no refrigerator, which feels essential in a hot place like Ospedaletti. There was hot water, but nothing cold to drink, and no fridge to keep anything chilled.

The sea view was beautiful, and the hotel's nineteenth-century character made for an interesting stay. Time has clearly left its mark, but the place still has charm. The man and woman working there were both very kind.

Twelve of the 25 people in our orientation group had money stolen, with each person losing more than 50 euros. In my case, the cash had been wrapped in a hair band and hidden in a sock in my suitcase. When I checked, it had been put back just as I’d left it, except that 50 euros were gone. It felt sneaky, and the service was outrageous. The company we worked with compensated us, but the hotel faced no consequences. Please don’t stay there.

The balcony view was amazing, and parking downstairs was a great extra. The hotel has a lovely rustic feel, and the rooms were clean. We were very comfortable during our stay.
