Il Trullo di Martino

A lovely, peaceful place, with very friendly owners. Next to the property there’s a small animal enclosure with a donkey, goats, chickens, and rabbits.

The gardens around Trullo di Martino are wonderful, with flowers, rare trees, exotic plants, and immaculate lawns. Marilena tends them every day, and she’s a fantastic gardener with an artist’s touch. After a journey of more than nine hours from Florence, we arrived in this lovely corner of Puglia and were greeted warmly by Marilena and Oronzo, who introduced us to the magic of the place. It’s like a doll’s house set in a beautiful garden. The restored trullo sits in the countryside near Ostuni, amid endless olive groves. It’s welcoming and has every comfort. Our room was in the oldest part of the trullo, and it was incredible, like sleeping in another era. The swimming pool is beautiful too. We were kept company by the affectionate dogs Nuvola and Lulù, the donkey Arturo, several goats, chickens, and so many birds. The sea and all the beautiful places to visit are only a few kilometers away. The quiet, day and night, made it easy to forget the hectic pace of city life.

We had a beautiful, unforgettable holiday in this trullo tucked into the Ostuni countryside. There are fruit trees and lots of room for privacy, plus a crystal-clear pool. It’s peaceful, with the sounds and scents of nature all around. The owners are kind, welcoming, and helpful. The location is convenient, very close to both Ostuni and the sea. Highly recommended.
