La Piana degli Ulivi

The B&B is well placed for walking to Ostuni, and the garden is lovely, with plenty of olive and fruit trees, a nice pool, and a view of the town. The owners are a friendly couple. The breakfast staff are very friendly too, especially if you speak Italian and like chatting with everyone. There was also a useful fridge, though I didn't try the TV and other guests said it wasn't working. Breakfast itself was a disaster: just packaged cakes and biscuits and sliced bread, with no fruit, jam, or packaged chocolate. We bought bread, fruit, and jam in town and brought them back. Eating on the terrace was really difficult because of the wasps. Our room was passable but not very clean, especially under the bed. There were holes in the sheets, no bathroom shelves, and we had to get everything from the shared hallway with the other room. The toilet brush had been left filthy by the previous guest. Better breakfast, a cleaner room, and some bathroom storage would make a big difference.

Cinzia, the owner, was genuinely kind, and the B&B is very close to Ostuni with spectacular views. Our room was spacious and clean, simply furnished but had what we needed. We didn't use the pool, though the spot among the olive trees looked lovely for relaxing. Breakfast was a real letdown: everything was packaged and very poor quality. That's a shame given the setting, and worth reconsidering. If you aren't expecting too much, it's still a very good option for visiting Ostuni.

The property could do with some updating, which is a shame. We arrived and changed our minds about the place: the room was dirty throughout, the soap and toilet paper had already been opened, and the hair dryer had old plugs and had been taken out of the bathroom. Things seemed patched up, and breakfast was forgettable. We'd thought it all sounded fine from the few reviews we'd read.

The rooms are full of light, and the view of Ostuni feels like a bow to the beauty of creation. This is a beautiful, welcoming place, where we felt the strength and dignity of simple things. The owners were attentive, helpful, and welcoming to everyone. Ms. Enza greets guests with a lovely smile and a beautiful good morning, as graceful and sweet as a rose catching the dawn frost and turning it into freshness. Thank you.
