Masseria Refrigerio

The courtyard is gorgeous and the location is just wonderful. Food was really good, and the service was so courteous and charming. Absolutely recommend it.

Really good value for the quality. The food, wine and service were all fantastic, and it's worth visiting for proper Italian food.

A peaceful spot surrounded by nature, great for staying a few nights. The rooms have air conditioning, a mini fridge and cable TV.

The Masseria itself is very charming, but we had a thoroughly bad experience. The appetizers were decent, then the first courses were inedible: cavatelli with seafood ragù, strozzapreti with octopus, and cacio e pepe ravioli alla norma. We told the staff we didn't want to wait for replacements. We expected those dishes to be removed from the bill, but on a bill of about €80 for them, they only took off €17. When we questioned the amount, they said it seemed strange that we'd sent every first course back and that we were free to leave a bad review. It felt to me like a restaurant more interested in taking advantage of tourists than serving food made with care and good ingredients. I strongly advise against trying it, and I won't return. I want to be clear that the first courses really were inedible. We were deeply disappointed to be treated as though we were dishonest and had made up the complaint to avoid paying because we'd already filled up on the appetizers. Their attitude says enough. If we hadn't been so hungry, we could have stopped eating during the appetizers. Customers deserve to be treated differently.
