The lack of a washing machine was something we only discovered when we arrived, and although the listing says there’s a hairdryer, you have to ask for it. There was also a pair of pants under the bed, which made us question whether the trullo had been cleaned properly. The accommodation felt more like a converted cellar than a proper vacation rental. There was very little storage, just one small wardrobe for one person, and the house was cluttered with the owner's belongings and piles of old blankets. One of the so-called bedrooms had only a tiny window and almost no natural light. Despite all the positive reviews, we were disappointed by our stay at Trullo Riccardo. Several important details were missing from the listing and affected our experience. We were asked for a €20 cash deposit on arrival, supposedly to ensure garbage was disposed of correctly. We weren’t given a receipt. The waste collection service didn’t work: no one came for the rubbish we sorted and left in the designated area. During our 4 days there, we couldn’t get rid of plastic or glass because those were collected only on specific days. To get the deposit back, the host expected guests to drive 30 minutes to remote collection points. We’d produced very little waste, but still had to delay our trip to retrieve the €20. Another serious concern was a surveillance camera aimed directly at the outdoor dining area. It wasn’t disclosed in the listing and left us extremely uncomfortable because we expected privacy during our holiday. I’d urge anyone considering this listing to read the negative reviews carefully. Our experience was disappointing in several ways, and I wouldn’t recommend it, especially to families or anyone planning a longer stay.
