Viar Beach Club

The pool was a good alternative when we came for a beach day and found the sea very windy the day after a storm. Pool access was reasonably priced at 8eur per adult, including an umbrella and sunbed. The receptionist was very friendly, and the toilets by the pool were clean. At lunch the restaurant had a fair enough choice of pasta. The parking is covered, so the car doesn't sit in the sun all day. It's a very nice complex.

For 25€ you get two sunbeds and an umbrella by the sea, but the pool costs extra and apparently has a separate entrance. I didn't try the food because it didn't look good. There are much better beach clubs and even better beach areas than this one, so I really don't think it's worth coming here. I don't understand the 4.1/5 rating. Just don't come.

The beach was tiny, messy, and overcrowded. When we arrived on Sunday morning, the pool was closed because a rave was still going on, and people behind the till were arguing with each other. The website's email and contact number were wrong too. The lady at the bar and the cleaner were both lovely, though. Maybe we just came on the wrong day.

We've visited three times over the last year, and each time we've been treated worse. The staff are rude and unwelcoming. We tried to book online yesterday for today, but were told pool bookings weren't accepted and we needed to arrive by 10am. At 10:15, we were told only beds were available because all the umbrellas were booked. We settled on some empty beds, then got told to move because they were prebooked too. My sister and her family eventually left after being hounded away from the beds they'd paid for; we left soon after. We won't be back and I don't recommend this place. They made us feel completely unwelcome.
