Country House Montessino

The views were amazing, and the room felt heavenly: comfortable, romantic, and spotless. Claudia was such a lovely host, with a fresh, top-notch breakfast and spot-on ideas for exploring the countryside, from beautiful sights to vineyards and history. She made us visitors from across the pond feel very welcome.

During the heatwave, we were glad to have a comfortable place to escape the hottest days. The saltwater pool, olive trees, air-conditioned Cantoni stone house, and tasteful rooms all helped. One of our trip highlights was riding a Vespa through nearby villages to get a feel for the area and its people and see what else we might explore. Claudia and Alessandro have made a peaceful retreat from their love of Piedmont, with art, authenticity, and thoughtful details throughout. It sits in the beautiful Monferrato landscape. They’re happy to help plan outings and make reservations, and breakfast comes with excellent coffee and fresh figs from their garden. Yum. We’d happily recommend it. Thanks again for everything!

We really enjoyed our two days here and would gladly come back. The owners were warm, accommodating, and easy to reach with questions. It’s set up perfectly for a quiet, relaxing stay, and the rooms are furnished with real care.

After a day out, cooling off in the pool was a treat. Claudia welcomed us warmly and shared excellent ideas for restaurants and excursions. Country House Montessino is perched on a hill with sensational views, and the lovingly restored house has a spacious, tastefully furnished room and an extensive breakfast buffet that had everything we wanted. It’s a charming hidden gem in a region that still doesn’t feel overrun by tourists. We’d recommend it for hiking or mountain biking too: the winding farm tracks reveal views you can’t reach by car.
