Hotel Villa Scalabrini

The breakfast staff member was the bright spot. She greeted us happily each morning and went out of her way to make sure we were looked after. The rest of the staff, including the front desk person, seemed cranky, as if our being there was a hardship. The hotel also feels run down, and the beds were hard with pillows like bricks. The shower was tiny, with an awkward curtain around the square stall that kept sticking to my legs. We stayed for two nights during our trip. This could be a great place if someone cared enough to clear the clutter, get the fountain running, and make a few upgrades to improve the curb appeal.

The garden could use a little more attention. It's such a stunning place.

Inside, our room was spacious and very well kept, with four beds. The king-sized bed was huge and comfortable, and the large bathroom was equipped for guests with mobility issues or wheelchairs, which is rare in the area. We paid €95 for one night with breakfast, and it was a delightful getaway. The exterior definitely needs significant renovation, though it doesn't reflect the excellent condition inside. The receptionist was extremely kind: because it was pouring when we got back at 1:00 AM, she let us in through a back porch and let us park our car. She also kindly let us leave our luggage in the room until our afternoon departure. It may have been because it was low season, but her courtesy and helpfulness felt genuine. The staff were helpful and courteous. I recommend it!
