The property is in a great location, quiet, with good privacy and hot water. But it needs extensive renovation and a responsible landlord. My fiancée and I noticed a strong smell from the septic tank or plumbing as soon as we arrived. The shower also backed up within five minutes. There were more problems during our stay. Ants got into the apartment, so I bought traps. The only 220V outlet in our bedroom area was mounted in plywood and wasn't run through a mini breaker, only the main breaker. On 5/22/18, it melted the prongs of a €13 extension cord, which could have been a shock or fire hazard. I fixed it myself for about €30, including the failed cord, and spent two hours on it. I didn't contact the owner because I was told she wasn't amiable about basic maintenance and negotiated splitting costs with tenants. The 40+ year old painted mini fridge also failed two days later, on 5/24/18. It was clearly at the end of its life. I found a slightly larger, nearly new one locally for €50, which I had on me, and sent her the ad in case it could be deducted from the next month's rent. She said she didn't have €50 to spend on one, and said she'd bring a working unit from upstairs the next day, 5/25/18. Then she messaged that it would be Saturday, 5/26/18. She came by sometime Sunday, 5/27/18, but didn't call or stop at our apartment about the fridge. All of this is documented in texts, though I didn't include a jpeg to protect privacy. The lack of a working fridge ruined food we'd bought that day and earlier in the week, including quiche, dairy products, and premium desserts. She never apologized for the inconvenience and complained to my fiancée, as if we'd done something wrong. The apartment was spotless and ready to be cleared for four days. As of 5/28/18, the fridge still hadn't been dealt with, even though she'd been onsite the day before. The location and privacy were good, and it was quiet, but the management was completely unprofessional.
