BYPILLOW Grand Central

The reception team were the highlight. Martin and the whole front office staff were genuinely excellent, kind, professional and helpful, and they did what they could to make our weekend stay pleasant. The breakfast food was very good too. I work in hospitality as a general manager of several hotels, and I'm offering these comments constructively. ByPillow Grand Central looks beautiful and fits the ByPillow concept, but this Padova property needs a lot of tender loving care. The rooms feel stuffy, almost suffocating at times, with little sense of proper ventilation. I suspect the renovation didn't adequately address air circulation or soundproofing. Street-facing rooms are extremely noisy, with people talking outside day and night near the station area. Even on higher floors, traffic noise is excessive with the windows closed, making proper sleep nearly impossible. Housekeeping was very approximate: slippers were left scattered on the floor, the bathroom hadn't been properly cleaned, and visible dirt and missed details remained. Bathroom amenities also fall well short of what I'd expect from a 4-star hotel. There was no proper bathroom set or glass for toothbrushes and toothpaste, and almost nothing beyond a small soap and a basic foam dispenser. The breakfast room is extremely noisy. Felt pads under the chairs could protect the floor and reduce the constant scraping and clinking. Service felt a bit chaotic, with staff rushing around and no calm atmosphere despite the good food. The place has strong potential, with attractive decor and genuinely kind staff, but several operational and structural issues need urgent improvement to deliver a true 4-star stay.
