The room and the rest of the house were very clean, and the location was good. There’s a lovely, cosy terrace with plants where you can have breakfast. Susi was kind and friendly, and gave good advice.

The street nearby gets busy, so traffic noise could bother light sleepers. Also, it’s a family-run place and there isn’t staff on site around the clock, so you need to arrange access with the host before you arrive. Suzi wasn’t home when I got there, but she’d left the key with staff at the restaurant across the street. That worked fine, and she was very accommodating about check-in. She even lent me a wall adapter. Once inside, I felt welcome straight away. Suzi is kind and charismatic, and her English was great, unlike my Italian. The room was much larger than I expected, with a private bathroom. Breakfast was a generous buffet with hard-boiled eggs, chocolate croissants, yogurt, bread, cereal, and fruit. The location is central, about a 25-minute walk or 15-minute bus ride from the train station, and a 10-minute walk from Basilica de San Antonio, with lovely piazzas around the church. Great value for the location, and I’d happily recommend this B&B in Padua.

The simple style is part of the charm, though the room did feel a little old-fashioned. It even brought back memories of my Catholic boarding school, in both a good and a not-so-good way. A few interior changes could make it feel fancier. Breakfast was very Italian, which was fine, but I’d have liked more savory options as someone from the north. The room was clean and had everything I needed, including a comfortable bed and a good bathroom. WiFi was strong, and there’s a nice terrace and kitchen guests can use. The staff were really friendly, too. It’s a charming place in a good spot, about 10 minutes from both the main square and St Anthony Basilica. I’d recommend it.

I stayed at a casa Battisti for seven days, and it was the best accommodation experience I’ve had. The place was clean, cozy, and welcoming, and the staff were so warm and kind that I felt at home the whole time. I had breakfast there every day and really enjoyed it, especially the amazing café latte. 100% recommend.
