Casa Yami

A bad experience. They only take cash, and the owner wouldn’t listen to reason. The room was large but dirty, with cobwebs everywhere and old, neglected furnishings. The air conditioning couldn’t be used properly. There was no remote in the room, so it depended on the owner’s “kindness”; he controlled it as he pleased, only at night and only in dehumidifier mode. Try sleeping under a wooden roof when it’s 35 degrees outside. Breakfast was disappointing too, all packaged food, a coffee pod, and one of those little cups of cold milk from a bar. There was no care or attention for guests. If I return to Padua, I won’t choose Casa Yami. It’s a shame, but the property and management need a complete overhaul.

The house is clean, well cared for, and furnished with charming, unusual pieces. The lighting is the one drawback: it’s more for atmosphere than practical use, and I’d suggest brighter lights for anyone who needs to work or write. It’s a simple, quiet place that I’d recommend to people traveling. I booked at the last minute because of unexpected circumstances. Within five minutes of my call, the owners arrived at the B&B, welcomed me, and explained everything. The owner kept checking that all was well, the temperature was comfortable, and the sheets were changed regularly, along with other thoughtful little touches. There’s basic tableware and herbal tea in the kitchen for guests. In the morning the owner quietly comes in to leave breakfast on the table. There’s no stovetop, so bring food that can go in the microwave or be kept in the fridge.

For the location, it’s excellent value. The room was spacious and clean, with its own bathroom, though you have to cross the shared hallway to reach it. Breakfast was fine, mostly packaged items.

The place was clean and looked nice, and it was certainly inexpensive. It’s not especially close to the center. We stayed for one night, and breakfast was adequate.
