Hotel Garibaldi

The omelette made fresh at breakfast was delicious, and the included breakfast was enough for a quick stop. Parking is free, and the hotel's location worked well for us. Our twin room hadn't been renovated like the rooms shown on the website, though, and the bathroom smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke, as if previous guests had ignored the no-smoking rule. The extractor fan didn't work either. We'd unpacked before noticing, otherwise we would have asked to move. After one night, we both had sore throats and bad sinuses. We'd still recommend the hotel, but check the room and bathroom before settling in.

The front desk staff were great. They offered us a Venice tour map and printed information for us, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was good too. Some parts of the hotel look old-fashioned, though that's a small thing. The internet connection needs attention.

We stayed four nights, my husband, our baby and me. The reception team were kind and helpful, and the woman serving breakfast was lovely too. The room was spacious and nice, and both it and the bathroom were very clean. Breakfast was mostly the same each day, but everything was fresh and delicious. Grazie 🇭🇷

What I liked most was the interior, especially the statues modeled on Renaissance art. The look of the hotel is moderately stylish, but it needs attention to some basic things. The bathroom door lock was broken, so it couldn't be locked from inside, and there wasn't a bathroom bin. The room bin was just a basket with no liner. Rooms are quite small, even by European standards. Breakfast was okay, with the usual Italian spread and lots of sweet food. Many people visiting Venice stay at this hotel in Padua. If management deals with these basics, it could be a great place.
