Hotel Giotto

I slept really well in room 102, with no noise at all. It's a quaint hotel a little off the beaten path, and the small room felt fair for the price. The breakfast buffet is worth the €10, so book it at check-in. Parking is €14 a day, and the staff speak English. Pull up to the hotel first to check in, and they'll explain where to park.

The little extras made an impression: slippers, a toothbrush, a razor, and even some candy in the room. It was spacious, spotless, welcoming, and smelled nice. We didn't have breakfast, but there were two very affordable quick options as well as the buffet. The hotel is in the heart of Padua, very close to the Basilica of Saint Anthony. We felt at home and would definitely stay here again if we return to Padua!

Room 307 was a very bad fit for a guest room. The mattress was so soft that my back hurt after the first night. I'd used to think complaints about it were funny for a short stay, but I felt the pain immediately. Maybe this really is a cursed room that shouldn't be rented to guests. I hope management turns it into storage or an extra staff room so other guests don't have to suffer. The location and cleanliness were positives, and the hotel is fine overall, especially its location. But if you book single occupancy, try to avoid this room. It's on the ground floor beside the main entrance, and people sit and talk on benches by the window. For privacy, especially in the evening or at night, the noise means you can't open the window or even raise the curtains, leaving you in a dark, tiny room. It also sits in a little corridor between the stairs and elevator on one side, and the breakfast restaurant and staff rooms on the other. People pass through until late at night and from around 7-7:30 in the morning. You can hear every conversation and even cutlery scraping in the dining room as if it's happening in your room. One more thing for management: please check the electrical devices and their condition from time to time, so guests don't get electrocuted. I'm not sure duct tape is the best fix.
