Palazzo Mantua Benavides Suites and Apartments

We stayed in the green room, which has a small separate room with a desk. Both the room and bathroom are very big, and the water pressure and temperature were quite good. Breakfast was good, with eggs made to order. In the common room, open all the time, you can help yourself to free bottled water, soda, tea, and coffee. We parked on the hotel grounds for $25 a night. When you arrive, you need to call them so they can direct you into the parking area.

A real hidden gem. The rooms are enormous, and there’s private parking and a private garden. Truly amazing, we loved it.

The gardens are lovely, and the staff were wonderful. In the big courtyard, a huge statue of Hercules really stands out. My only minor gripe was that there wasn't a full-length mirror in the room. It’s an ideal spot for wandering around this beautiful historic city, and the country’s second-oldest university is an easy stroll away. We heard students practicing instruments one at a time, a vibraphone, French horn, then flute, and nearby at a cafe three charming young male students were riffing on opera. We’ll definitely be back.

Padova made a great base for our week in September 2018, with plenty of good restaurants an easy walk from the Palazzo. We could also walk to the train, tram, and downtown. We used the city for trips to Venice, Vincenzo, and Verona. The facilities were great, and the staff were especially pleasant and helpful. Padova is a lovely city, and we’d happily recommend Palazzo Mantua Benavides. Say hi to Hercules when you visit.
