Dinner was fantastic, and breakfast had plenty of continental choices, including homemade cake and jams. The place is lovely out in the countryside. Our big rooms had extra beds, verandas and mini fridges, though all seemed set up for families. The furniture could use a refresh, and the TV is quite small. There’s a pool too, but it was off season during our stay.

I found this place through the reviews on my way back from Comunita Montana. The immaculate grounds looked promising, and the meal lived up to that first impression. I let Michele choose the dishes, which was a good call: he put together a feast of local food. We skipped the antipasto and started with tagliatelle with fresh local mushrooms and parsley. I enjoyed the Coniglio alla cacciatora, and the rabbit was exceptional. The fagioli lardari with stewed pomodorini were satisfying, though I didn’t care for how the beans were prepared. For dessert, I had local kiwi and figs by the window, looking out at the neighboring vines. Michele offered me a homemade liquor that wasn’t too potent and left me safe to drive. There are lots of amenities for guests who stay over, and I liked that they didn’t push extras on us. I’d like to come back and try more of the entrées.

A clean outdoor pool among green trees is a great way to recharge, and the local food is well prepared. Agriturismo il Castagneto is a relaxing weekend option near historic places like Certosa di Padula and Castello di Teggiano. 👍

We’d just finished lunch here as a group of four and wanted to share how much we enjoyed it. The agriturismo is charming, beautifully kept and surrounded by greenery, with pools and rooms for overnight stays. The food was the real highlight: plentiful traditional dishes with authentic local flavors, from generous appetizers to well-made first courses and quality second courses. The desserts and house liqueurs were lovely too. The owner and staff were warm and helpful while staying professional, and made us feel at home. Highly recommended for a satisfying lunch at a very fair price.

We had a family lunch and chose the €30 menu, which was a great deal. The scialatielli with cardoncelli mushrooms and cruschi peppers stood out. The staff were courteous and professional, and the owner was very kind. A wonderful experience, congratulations.
