Palau City Hotel

Ronex was the most arrogant, awful receptionist I’ve ever met. I booked for four adults and chose one large double bed plus two single beds. When we arrived, there was a bunk bed in the room. I complained, but was told every room had bunk beds. They never replied to my email asking about this. After arguing, Ronex blamed me and said I should contact the booking provider, even though the hotel’s details on the website weren’t updated. He wouldn’t even let me make an international call from reception to sort it out. Ronex, leave the job to someone who actually wants to help people. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel even to my enemy.

The staff were the real standout, so friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and better than you’d expect for the price, and the location is nice too, less than a ten-minute walk to the center by the port. I’d definitely recommend it, just skip the breakfast buffet.

We spent one night there in June. The rooms feel really dated, and the bathrooms are much too small with a poor layout. This hotel needs a makeover.

We’d booked the room in advance, but when we arrived the hotel was empty. We waited outside the door for an hour and tried the emergency number without anyone answering. After another 45 minutes waiting for customer service, someone called to say there was a problem and told us to contact the owner about a room at another property. The owner didn’t answer either, so we eventually found somewhere else to stay. Don’t trust them.
