The owners were friendly and helpful, and we liked the comfortable bed and good breakfast. The shower was small, but the water pressure was excellent and we could set it as hot or cold as we wanted. The location was perfect. There’s no elevator, and there are probably thirty stairs to climb. That wasn’t a problem for us, but it’s good to know. When we left, they lowered our luggage from the balcony, so we didn’t have to carry it downstairs. I imagine they’d probably lift it up too if needed. We’d stay again and recommend the place.

The reception’s system of leaving the key there seemed odd at first, and I worried someone might come in, though I got used to it. The Albergo is very close to lots of tourist spots and has great restaurants nearby. It can be a bit loud, but we were in the city center after all. Have you ever found one that’s quiet? My husband slept fine, and I used earplugs because I’m sensitive to noise. It’s definitely not a bad place.

The beds were rotten, the pillows smelled dirty, and the hallway reeked of unpleasant cooking that seeped into the rooms. I got sick on the last day of my vacation, exhausted from not sleeping at night or in the morning. The windows didn’t block the noise from the alley full of restaurants and bars, making it impossible to sleep in the evening. Then around 6:30 a.m. the manager would talk very loudly with her employees and wake everyone in their rooms. She also has a dog that barks now and then :). This hotel ruined my summer vacation. I wouldn’t recommend it at all. Sleeping outside might be better.

You’re right in the heart of historic Palermo, and that’s the one thing going for this place. The room and balcony were small and old, it was noisy, and there’s no parking or elevator. The hosts were friendly, but that didn’t make up for it. Very expensive for what you get.

The rooms are lovely, and the staff are genuinely kind and welcoming. Albergo Verdi is right in the center on Via Marqueda, which is a great street. If you want to experience Palermo, this is a wonderful place to stay.
