At 3 a.m. we were exhausted but still couldn’t sleep because it was so noisy. Cars and crickets outside sounded as if they were in the room. The windows provided zero sound insulation, and the B&B sits right on the street. We could also hear people inside the building walking, talking, showering, opening and closing doors, and using the bathroom. There were mosquitos in the room because the windows had no screens, and it was very hot with no air conditioning. We paid to be up all night, and it ruined our health and vacation.

This is a middle-class B&B that uses a fake account for a nearby closed four-star hotel. Our room was noisy and faced a traffic street. They put us in a lower room category without telling us, and I only found out after complaining. The issue wasn’t fixed, and nobody seemed to care. The service after that was bad. The advertised “sea view” was actually a parking lot with construction work.

Breakfast was served by a very kind and helpful young woman. The buffet wasn’t especially large, though it had almost everything. The villa is steps from the Mondello seafront, and the rooms are spacious, but the furnishings seemed carelessly chosen. At this nightly price, I expected better upkeep. The sheets had holes, the curtains were taped to their rods and looked awful, and there were bathroom encrustations and dirty walls. The holiday was pleasant, but I’m not sure I’d choose this place again.
