Bed and Breakfast Montecarlo

The decor is cute, modern, and artsy, and it's a quiet little place within walking distance of shops and grocery stores. But for a Bed and Breakfast, the breakfast was disappointing: just yogurt and store-bought muffins, if it had been replenished at all. They also never changed our towels.

The host was friendly, and it's easy to reach, with good connections to both the city center and the airport.

The location near the subway was convenient, and we got two bottles of water each day. The entrance area is charming, though the B&B itself occupies a home on the ninth floor of a very large apartment block. The mini-fridge is shared in the entry hall, not in the room. Our room was tiny, with a small shower and worn sheets that need replacing. The mirror was so dirty it was almost impossible to see yourself, and there was dust on the shelf above the bed, the sockets, and elsewhere. Breakfast was awful for a Sicilian B&B: packaged snacks, little jam portions, carton juice from Eurospin, and toast, with nothing fresh. When we arrived, a man at reception, who I assume was from Bangladesh, asked which room we had. We couldn't have known yet. He called the owner, who was at the door, and urged her to come inside because we were there. This setup isn't suitable for children: there's only a double bed against the wall and no space for a crib. I wouldn't stay here again.
