Bel3 Hotel Palermo

We spent plenty of time by the pool, unwinding between wedding events and sightseeing, and it ended up being our favorite part of the stay. Hotel Bel 3 was a real highlight of our Palermo holiday. The rooms could use updating, but the place was clean, comfortable, and affordable. We were very happy there and would recommend it to anyone wanting a pleasant stay in Palermo.

The restaurant food was tasty, though the servings were tiny for the price. You won't leave full if that's what you're after. Breakfast was a letdown for a 3-star hotel too, with the same limited choices every day. We left dissatisfied because of the parking mix-up at Hotel Bel 3 in Palermo. At check-in, we were quoted €3 a day, then the receptionist offered to waive the fee while we were deciding. At checkout, staff said we had to pay after all and made no effort to sort it out. Communication was very poor.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the pool was a great place to cool off on a hot day, with Monte Pellegrino right in view. After a week of moving between hotels around Italy, I ended my trip in Palermo at Hotel Bel 3. The staff welcomed me warmly and gave me a detailed rundown of things to do during my stay. It was easily the best hotel of my trip, and I'd happily do it again. Thank you!

The reception team were friendly and professional, and the pool was peaceful and pleasant. We also liked our modern, quiet room and its reasonably sized balcony, where we could sit and enjoy the view. We stayed six nights and had a pretty good time, with a few drawbacks. Getting there takes patience: both ends of the road are a bit wild, with narrow residential streets and poor visibility on one side, and tight hairpin bends on the other. The hotel is outside central Palermo but has a fantastic view across the city and bay. Parking at the hotel costs 7€ a day and needs to be reserved ahead, which we hadn't done; a nearby lot is 3€/day. Breakfast was mediocre and disappointing. There weren't many savory items or breads, and the white bread was missing one day and stale another. The orange juice tasted overly sweet and artificial, the coffee machine was out of milk for cappuccino, the bacon was greasy and soggy, and the scrambled eggs were dry and clearly not fresh. The cornetti were the one thing that partly made up for it. At dinner, the wait staff were friendly but slow and disorganized, so that could be improved.
