My room was tiny, and it barely had a window. When I opened it, I was looking straight at a wall. The room they first assigned didn't match what the booking description led me to expect. The whole place felt like a dump. The walls were covered in black scuffs, and I wouldn't expect that even at a Motel 6 in the US, let alone a place calling itself four star. I don't understand the 4.8 rating or the four-star label on booking. At check-in I waited around 20 minutes for someone, then after I complained, waited another 15-20 minutes for them to sort it out. At first they had me speaking to someone who cleans the rooms. I was only there for one night before my flight and was tired, otherwise I'd have asked for my money back and found somewhere else. They also asked me to send passport photos over WhatsApp. You should never be asked to do that. I refused and said they could come take a look in person; I would only provide the passport number, which is all they need. The location wasn't terrible, on a street where there's some activity, but Palermo in general is a mess and a dump. I couldn't upload photos, but trust me, the scuffs cover the walls everywhere.

You can walk to just about everything from here, including historic sights, nightlife, transport and shopping. It's in the city center, on what might be Palermo's prettiest street to live on. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and clean. If you're lucky, you may get the terrace, and breakfast is a traditional Italian one with a croissant and coffee. The staff are professional, friendly and funny. A place I'd absolutely recommend.
The rooms were fresh, neat and clean, with plenty of towels plus shampoo and shower gel. Heating and air conditioning kept the temperature comfortable, and there was no street noise, so we slept peacefully. Check-in was easy: call or WhatsApp and they remotely open the entrance door downstairs. It all worked smoothly, and the hotel was easy to find. A few things kept this at four stars for us. The Wi-Fi was very weak and kept dropping, making social media and a steady connection frustrating. While the rooms were well insulated from each other, hallway sounds came through clearly, so early risers' footsteps and rustling were easy to hear. The shower head was broken and needs replacing. Good value, clean and comfortable, with some simple technical fixes that could make it much better.
The rooms were very clean, and at the price I paid this was a decent place to stay. Each had a hairdryer, a fridge and a kitchenette with a refrigerator. It's on the third floor of a tenement building, with five or six rooms and an elevator. The area felt safe, the location near the main street was excellent, and there are plenty of restaurants close by. The rooms matched their descriptions. I'd recommend it.
We arrived knowing the elevator was out of order, and they kindly put us on the third floor. But the rooms are on the third and fifth floors, and it kept breaking down. We had to move rooms the next day. On our last day it was finally working, so we went down for breakfast, only to find it broken again when we returned. We had to carry our luggage downstairs. The building is fairly new and the location is excellent, but this was an experience I wouldn't repeat.
