Crisol Europa Hotel

The location deserves five stars. It’s very strategic, just behind the main street via liberta, with branded shops and restaurants nearby. It’s a pity the rooms aren’t maintained to match. Reception staff were very friendly, responsive, and helpful with information, so I’d give their service four stars. Room 16, which I got at check-in, was nothing like the photo on the booking platform. It was very old and dirty, especially the air conditioning. I couldn’t sleep until 03am, so I emailed management asking them to clean it immediately or move me. My photos show what I mean. Luckily they changed me the next morning to room 727 on P7. It was spacious, looked newer and cleaner, and the air conditioning didn’t smell dusty. The bathroom and hairdryer were still old, but I don’t mind that if the room is clean. That change saved the stay and brought my rating to three stars. I really hope all rooms are at least like that one. Renovation is needed, and the air conditioning should be cleaned regularly. Some equipment needs modernizing too. A branded hairdryer costs only 20 30 euro these days, and a bulb for the desk lamp costs a few euros. Please pay attention to cleanliness, especially for a three-star hotel. With such a strategic location, the hotel deserves a better customer experience. I only stayed one night, and it was an awful experience. I arrived late, and although Booking.com showed rooms available, the receptionist insisted there was no room except the one for disabled guests. He became very aggressive and intimidating when I pointed out that two standard rooms were listed, including the one I’d booked. I couldn’t get his name.

Good location, pleasant hotel, and a nice breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel was clean and quiet, right in the middle of downtown. The staff were attentive and very friendly. I’d definitely recommend it and use it again next time we go to Palermo.
