It was easy to get around on foot from the apartment, which is close to the main streets of the historic center and the most important monuments. The price was affordable, especially for that period compared with other options, and the apartment stayed warm in winter. Those were the strong points. There were several comfort and maintenance issues. The TV lost its signal in bad weather, and the remote didn't work. Basic utensils like a frying pan were missing, and there was no electric oven, which would be useful on a longer stay. The air fresheners were very strong and could bother people with allergies. There was only one proper bedroom; the second “bed” was in an open kitchen area, not a separate double bedroom. The extra bed was much lower than the other, so the two couldn't be pushed together as a couple's bed. Running the water heater along with the air conditioning or hairdryer easily tripped the meter. The bedroom lighting was quite dim. The bidet and sink drained very slowly, probably because they were clogged. Cleaning could have been more thorough, and the linens, which cost extra, could use an update. For what it cost, the apartment needed more attention and maintenance to offer comfort comparable to other places in the same price range.
