Family Affair

The staff were super friendly, and the property was nicely designed. It looked a little dodgy from the outside, but once inside it was much nicer. Of my 4 stays in Sicily, this one seemed the most put together. Even though I found Palermo a dump, this was a nice place, and the room description seemed accurate. Most other listings I saw lied about what they offered. The beds were very hard, and the heater was a little difficult to use, so I took off a point. I left a night early because I couldn’t stand Palermo, but that wasn’t the property’s fault.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the neighborhood was great. Via della Liberta is one block away and becomes a major pedestrian road leading to the sights. The location is fantastic, the breakfast was amazing, and all the staff were so nice. There’s also a parking garage across the street affiliated with the B&B.

My husband and I spent almost a week at Family Affair for our honeymoon, and it was absolutely amazing. After two days of travel, we arrived hoping to get in early, and the staff did everything they could to make that happen. They were incredibly friendly and ready to help with anything. Our room was cleaned every day while we were out. They also surprised my husband with a cake and candle at breakfast for his birthday. We’d absolutely stay here again if we return to Palermo!

The staff were superb, especially at the front desk. They were helpful and polite throughout, and gave us plenty of suggestions for places to visit and eat. Breakfast was nice, with a good selection, and they handled the limited space well. When we missed breakfast because we were leaving early, they thoughtfully gave us a snack set. We also received a lovely parting gift. The rooms were spacious, beautiful, spotless, and well maintained. I’d have preferred a darker room at night, but the layout and design made that difficult. The room safe was a bit confusing without instructions, though staff helped quickly. It’s a great base for exploring, a shortish walk from the main areas, in a quieter spot to return to. Such a lovely property and very personal service. Highly recommended!
