Hotel Posta

The spotless rooms and amazing breakfast gave us a great start to every day. Most major sights are easy to reach on foot from the hotel, and there are so many nearby restaurants that choosing a favourite could take a day or two. What made the stay especially warm was the team. Reception welcomed us and shared useful information, while the breakfast staff greeted us each morning with attentive service and smiles. I don’t usually name staff, and I’m sure others went above and beyond too, but Sara, David, and Alessandra made us feel at home. We didn’t catch the names of some other staff, but they also added to the atmosphere by greeting us whenever we passed. I’ve stayed in hotels all over the world, from three to five stars, with good and bad experiences at every level. Hotel Posta was a very pleasant surprise. Thank you to the whole team for making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Highly recommended.

The staff are amazing and the location is great, close to the historic area and lots of places you can walk to. Rooms are clean, and the bed was comfortable, though it could use a bit of updating. I noticed the mattress was split on one side. There was a huge breakfast spread with pastries and more, but it wasn’t for me as a vegan.

Breakfast was outstanding, with lots of fresh, tasty choices, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The hotel is clean and well maintained, and you can quickly walk to the main tourist sights. In the evening, the rooftop terrace is a nice place to relax after exploring, though there’s no bar or service up there. Our room was okay but nothing special, perhaps because it was one of the older rooms that hadn’t been renovated. As we walked past other rooms, many looked modernized and much nicer.

We were both bitten by bedbugs, and a doctor confirmed it. After we got home, we had to quarantine to get rid of any bugs or eggs. We were moved between rooms several times, and the conditions made it impossible to relax. The manager showed no concern, didn’t apologize for the inconvenience, and offered no compensation. The rooms also lack basic furniture like shelves, racks and clothes drawers. Never again. Bye Palermo.
