L'Aquilone B&B

The balcony has a lovely view over Palermo, and the room itself was spacious, clean, with comfortable beds. With the windows shut, the street noise at night was tolerable. The bathroom is huge and has plenty of supplies, but the shower stall looks as if it has been there since the first guests and was simply dirty. The lift may seem a bit daunting, though the taste fades once you open the hotel door and see the beautifully arranged living and dining room, plus a well-stocked corner with tea, croissants, cakes, and more. A whole-day bus ticket costs 3.5€, and there’s a stop on the next street. I’d recommend staying here.

The place was tricky to find, and walking back at night could feel scary, but the service was great and the location was decent. We had big rooms and lovely shared bathrooms, with food and breakfast available, though you can’t cook there. The welcome, atmosphere, and bathrooms all fit the seven arts style. My side of the bed had a small dip that hurt my neck a bit. The TV didn’t work, though we hadn’t come to watch it. That bed is the only reason I’m taking off a star.

We stayed three nights and enjoyed it. The room was roomy enough and clean, the staff were nice, and the location was handy. Breakfast was really good too.

The owners even waited for us when we arrived late, which we really appreciated. There are just three rooms, so it never feels crowded, and every one has its own look, inspired by music, art, or cinema. We had a wonderful view from both the kitchen and our room, and good coffee was always available. One of the best B&Bs I’ve stayed in.
