NH Collection Palermo Palazzo Sitano

The team made everything easy, from sorting airport transfers to getting our laundry done around the May 1 holiday. They also pointed us toward some very good nearby restaurants and sights. We were upgraded to a comfortable, well-equipped suite, and the location worked perfectly: right by the eastern end of Via Vittorio Emmanuele, close to Palermo’s sights and restaurants but a little removed from the noise and bustle farther east on the Corzo. We really enjoyed our stay at the NH Collection Palermo Palazzo Sitano and hope to return.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, and we started each day with a wonderful breakfast, though I’m not sure if it was a regular offering or a special at the time. Dinner is served in the bar in small, tapas-style portions, and our bartender and waiter was exceptional. The hotel helped us find a tour company before we arrived; they’ve been very helpful with suggesting trips and driving us to the places. From check-in onward, the staff treated us like VIPs. They explained the hotel and its amenities, offered us the rewards club, and shared a map of nearby sights and things to do, plus restaurant suggestions in three categories. I’d recommend this place to anyone staying in Palermo.

The building felt distinctive, with its old stone pillars kept in place and worked into the design. Light coming into the lobby and dining room made the architecture feel uplifting, and the heavy glass bedroom door opening onto the patio was a striking touch. Inside, the design was contemporary and stylish, with a relaxed sense of luxury. Everything was spotless from the street entrance onward, and the building looked beautifully maintained. The staff were polished, attentive, welcoming, and helpful throughout. We especially enjoyed the cocktail bar, where both the drinks and their presentation were lovely. We had a wonderful stay. Thanks to everyone.

The location is great, and the gym is new and fine for basic workouts and cardio. But for such an expensive hotel, I expected more. Our room felt damp, and our clothes and even the towels smelled musty after one use. Cleaning could have been better, and in our superior room there were no slippers, so we ended up walking barefoot on dirty floors. The room was also noisy, and the “balcony” faced an alley. Breakfast was the biggest letdown, especially the hot food. Much of it seemed to come straight from the freezer, and I didn’t want frozen potatoes. The reception staff weren’t particularly friendly, though the breakfast team was great and attentive.
