Palazzo Liberty

Moksud the bartender was the best part of our stay. He was really friendly, great with our tour group, and always ready to help. The hotel was part of our Perillo tour of Sicily, and the location was good, but the rooms were much too dark to enjoy. Seriously dark.

The torn towels sum up how little care was shown. We pointed them out, but torn ones were put back in our room the next day. There were no in-room amenities, not even a way to heat water for tea or coffee. We had to go downstairs for everything. Staff said this was the policy, leaving guests without amenities. The shower floor was dangerously slippery, like an eel, but our request for a non-slip mat was refused. The toilet door moved loosely, and no one acted on our request to fix it. Front desk staff wouldn't take requests to address room problems. We asked to speak with the GM, but she couldn't meet guests who had booked two rooms for three nights for two hours. That was deeply irresponsible. This shows no hospitality, concern, or empathy for guests. Very poor service and attention. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The kindest person we dealt with was the grey-haired staff member, who was super helpful. The curly-haired man on the night shift was the opposite. When we asked for earplugs, he said they were out and told us to buy our own. I don't think that should be on the guest, and he made no effort to help. He was dismissive throughout. There were no slippers in the room either. We were told we couldn't reserve the restaurant ahead of time, then arrived to find it full and were turned away. On the third floor facing the street, we heard traffic all night through thin, single-glazed windows. The walls were paper-thin too, so other guests' slamming doors and noise from neighboring rooms kept carrying through. Honestly, this was one of my worst hotel stays. I wouldn't recommend it if comfort, quiet, or decent service matter to you.

Right in the heart of Palermo, with beautiful interiors and a really kind, fantastic staff. A lovely hotel I'd come back to.
