Palermo Centrale

The bathrooms and kitchen, which are shared, looked just as good. Everything was spotless and newly renovated. Nice central location, and the place was better than I expected.

This is a fairly small station for such a large city, but it's easy to find and get around, and it's centrally located. The signs are clear. Services and shops inside are limited, though there are many stores just outside. Restrooms are available, and the station is accessible at one level, but allow plenty of time. Customer service was friendly and efficient. One thing to watch: even with an e-ticket generated on your phone, you still need to check in for ticket verification. And always double-check your platform, changes are very common in Italy.

Just to warn other travelers, this is not Palermo's train station, and it's nowhere near the station. Owners, please consider changing the name. Several reviewers seem to have been directed to the wrong place through Google.

The price was reasonable, and it was generally clean and safe. The toilets sometimes got blocked and drained slowly. In summer, the lights suddenly went out at night, and the issue wasn't fixed even after we tried calling and texting the owner. She doesn't speak English, which made things harder.
