I picked this hotel partly because other, more central places seemed to get complaints about noise. It was quiet at Ucciardhome, but the tradeoff was a fairly remote location for my trip. It’s around a 30-minute walk, or a 20-minute walk plus a bus ride, to the main tourist area and train station. I also saw quite a few guests who seemed to be business travelers, so perhaps it suits them better. The walk from the ferry port was short, but arriving after dark because the boat was late, I felt uneasy going through empty, unlit alleys. A man shouted at me from a car window on the main road as soon as I left the port. I got to the hotel safely and nothing else happened, but the walk didn’t feel safe. The hotel itself was clean and reasonably comfortable, though it felt a little cold and out of the way. My room was clean and spacious, but awkwardly laid out. The bathroom door couldn’t open all the way because a towel rack blocked it, and the solid cube bedside tables offered no useful extra storage. Even with a large room and not much luggage, I struggled to find a place for my bag where it wasn’t in the way. There’s plenty of space, and a better layout could make the room much more practical and welcoming. I left the “do not disturb” sign up for my whole stay to avoid unnecessary laundering, but staff kept coming in to replace towels. That felt like an unwelcome invasion of my privacy. Breakfast was included and had a good range: boiled eggs, meat and cheese, granola, yogurt, fruit, and pastries. Some of the vegetables looked wilted, which surprised me.

We were really pleased with our stay at Ucciardhome. The staff were warm and helpful, and our room was spacious, clean, and fully equipped. There are great restaurants right next door, plus a jazz club. Grazie mille, we’d highly recommend it to anyone staying in Palermo.

We had a comfortable, pleasant stay and felt it was very good value for the money. Hotel UcciardHome gave us four-star accommodation with what felt like five-star service. The staff were caring, professional, always smiling, and spoke fluent English. It’s very pet friendly too. The room was spotless, with marble floors, all the amenities we needed, fast internet, and strong air conditioning. Breakfast offered plenty of choices, including boiled eggs and different cakes. The private car park was completely free and had CCTV, which mattered a lot to us. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the bus station, and different museums take around 20-30 minutes to reach. Mondello beach is about a 30-minute drive. We left very happy with our choice, no complaints, and highly recommend the hotel.

Room 308 was large and quiet, and breakfast was lovely. The staff were very helpful. There are three very good restaurants close by, including one right next door. It’s a short walk to the main Liberta drag and about a 15-minute stroll to teatro Massimo. An old fort that’s now a prison is nearby, but it didn’t bother us or make us feel unsafe.

We had a great time here. The room was clean and roomy, and parking nearby was easy enough. The location worked well, with everything close at hand, and the staff were friendly and very helpful.
