Sonia at reception made us feel welcome and was really helpful. The Gattopardo is a charming, stylish place with plenty of history, and I can highly recommend it. While you're there, watch the movie or series.

The breakfast was a real treat, with fresh squeezed orange juice, eggs made to order, good coffee, and delicious pastries. The staff even made my daughter a rich hot chocolate that she ate with a spoon. We stayed in the bridal suite, where the beds were comfortable and the antique linens felt special. When we arrived late, the receptionist turned on the fountain show just so our little girl could see it. Such a lovely touch. The service was wonderful throughout, and the hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous. I'm puzzled by the one star reviews because we had an exceptional stay. Already looking forward to coming back.

A stunning spot between Palermo and mondello beach. It’s much easier to enjoy if you have a car.

I was so glad I got to stay here, and left feeling inspired. The hotel is worth the trip out of town, though you'll want to rent a car or budget for taxis. There are a couple of nice bars nearby, but getting to the city center for dining and sightseeing meant a $30 Euro taxi. I wouldn't walk downtown, since the route was unusually full of trash and had few amenities. It's in a quiet residential area, and I can imagine the property being magical as a wedding venue. Inside and out, the place feels like another world. I loved the expansive citrus-scented gardens, the musical fountain, the courtyard with ancient Roman statues, and the restored exterior terraces. The elegant ballroom and my beautiful room made me feel like a princess. The antique decor, period-correct restoration, and impressive collection of statues and art show incredible care for detail. I've never seen better furniture, and there are precious antiques everywhere you look. The staff were gracious, and the marble shower was lovely. Breakfast was delicious and free, with complimentary water each day and a small coffee maker in the room. This is the original site where Italy’s most beloved story THE LEOPARD was written, as reflected in the Leopard iconography all over Sicily.
