Casa Ambra

Right in the heart of Panarea, this lovely two-room apartment is close to the town center but tucked away in total quiet. Its clean, bright rooms have plenty of Mediterranean character, with traditional Aeolian architecture and carefully chosen furnishings. The bedroom has a welcoming feel and an extra bed, so up to three people can stay comfortably. There's a practical private bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen for cooking with local ingredients. The private panoramic terrace is the highlight, with designer sun loungers and an outdoor seating area. You get a stunning 180-degree sweep of clear sea, from Stromboli on the horizon to Dattilo and Basiluzzo. It's a lovely place for breakfast, a slow afternoon, or watching the moonlight on the water. For groups or families, the apartment can connect to the neighboring house. That second unit has a spacious bedroom, its own kitchen and bathroom, and a usable outdoor terrace for privacy, though it doesn't have a panoramic view. White lava stone walls, bougainvillea, cacti, terracotta jars, and artistic touches make this a memorable way to experience Panarea's authentic feel.

We had to leave the Aeolian Islands early after a death in the family. I understand that cancellations aren't refundable, but once we'd explained what happened, refunding at least the cleaning fee would have been a considerate gesture. We never entered the house, so that fee wasn't incurred.

A lovely two-room apartment, with a private terrace and fantastic views of Stromboli, Linosa, and Vulcano. The starry sky at night is priceless. Highly recommended.
