La Stele di Rekale

Between the mountains and the sea, this lovely Dammuso has such a picturesque setting. We stayed from July 31st to August 23rd, and Caterina made us feel welcome and was always helpful. She’s a woman from another era. A wonderful experience, and when we come back to Pantelleria, we’ll stay with her again! Vanessa and Nazzareno ❤️

The outdoor areas are spacious and set up with all the comforts, and Marilena and her mother shared advice that helped make my Pantelleria holiday unforgettable. The property up in the hills of Scauri is clean, welcoming, and nicely furnished. A real mark of quality and value. You can trust a Genoese person on that.

We felt included in Erina’s family’s everyday life, with Mario there too, and Giovanni took us out to see Pantelleria from the sea in his gozzo and treated us to delicious fruit. The dammuso was spotless and well cared for, with a lovely, welcoming patio. It had everything we needed for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Erina’s dinner was excellent.

The location is out of the way, though the patio does have a sea view. The way to the dammuso was strewn with rubble and overgrown grass, and could really use some upkeep. The owner didn’t handle things professionally: breakfast and the chance to eat there had been promised, but neither was available. We were very disappointed. Wi-Fi was weak, with no instructions, just the password stuck on the door. For the same price, there are surely better options on the island.
