Garni-Hotel Wiesenhof

We were four, with two teenage daughters, so we booked two rooms. The rooms are roomy for two, and I'd suggest them for couples or a family with one child at most. Each has a nice balcony with loungers, a small table, and a clothesline, handy after a hike. The garden pool is lovely. We couldn't use the sauna because of Covid, though it is available. The owners were kind and helpful. Breakfast felt a little sparse compared with what we've had over many years in South Tyrol, but there was bread, cold cuts, jam in packets, yogurt, and fruit salad. We had a very pleasant five days in Rabla. It's a charming village, with nice walks among the apple orchards in Val Venosta and two cable cars that take you up quickly. Merano is only a few minutes away, and there are plenty of other towns in the valley. A lovely bike path follows the Adige River. I recommend both the town and the bed and breakfast.

We've known this area for twenty years, and this time the stay itself made us just as happy as the location. Wiesenhof is peaceful and very clean, with a welcoming feel. The room was simple and comfortable, just right, and had a panoramic view you really have to see for yourself. For us, it offers exceptional value for money and is an ideal B&B. The Johanna Gstrein / Müller family welcomed us so warmly that we felt at home. Their kindness and care reach all their guests. Breakfast had the savory local favorites as well as fresh fruit, yogurt, and artisanal jams, and Johanna Gstrein / Müller paid close attention to every need. The property is close to the most spectacular hikes in the Venosta Valley and just minutes from fairytale Merano. We left completely satisfied. Well done, keep up the good work.

Breakfast was decent quality and mostly savory, though I expected a bit more. The room was okay for cleanliness and furnishings. We knew there was no bidet, so that wasn't a surprise. What struck me as odd was the bedding: some kind of mattress topper and only a duvet to sleep under in mid-August. I don't know if that's how they do it in Trentino, but it felt strange to me.

Everything was clean and well kept, and the staff were friendly. There's a little pool with loungers. Breakfast was fine but basic, bread, jam, cold cuts, and yogurt. With apple orchards behind the place, a few tarts and some fresh apple juice would have been nice. Italian was difficult because of the limited understanding and speaking of the language. They take cash only.
