The sauna and wellness area were lovely places to unwind, and the family and staff made us feel welcome straight away. We especially enjoyed the food, which was even better than we’d expected. The setting and the view were superb too, just right for relaxing. We had a wonderful four-night stay at Hotel Niedermaier and would love to return.

We keep coming back to the Kuen family’s nature hotel because it feels so warm and personal, while still being professionally run. The new Nature double rooms are lovely, with solid wood, simple cosy fabrics, very comfortable beds, and balconies looking out over the Vinschgau Valley. The food is divine: dinner comes with a generous salad buffet, and the breakfast spread has everything we could want. I especially love the crisp vegetables for fresh juice in the morning. Thanks to the excellent service, especially Patricia. There’s plenty to enjoy beyond the meals. The spa is stylish and cosy, and the saltwater whirlpool was a highlight. In the garden, the yoga room hosts guided sessions with Barbara. We also appreciated the complimentary breathwork with Dominik Neth and the Kuen family’s invitation to a relaxing aperitif before dinner. Niedermair Nature Retreat is in a beautiful spot in Partschins, close to Merano, and works well as a base for walks along South Tyrol’s Waalwege or the Tappeiner Trail to Merano. The South Tyrol Guest Pass makes a car-free holiday easy, and the hotel’s underground garage is handy. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful, and everything was spotless. We also enjoyed the food, especially the excellent courses from the kitchen. Breakfast is already good, though a bit more choice there and at the salad bar would make the experience even better. The new wing has beautiful rooms, and its spacious adults’ wellness area includes three saunas, a whirlpool, and spa treatments. Families can use the older, but still good, pool area. The hotel sits above Partschins, with wide views across the valley.
