Hotel Rössl

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for families with small babies. Most of the guests seemed to be over 70, and neither the staff nor some guests reacted well to our baby crying. The stay was full of misunderstandings. Twice, our table hadn't been reserved because staff assumed we didn't want breakfast or dinner, though we hadn't cancelled either meal. The trouble started at check-in. We'd booked online from Friday to Saturday, but were told the reservation was for Saturday to Sunday. We showed them our booking, and because the hotel was full, we ended up in a smaller room. At checkout, they said we had to pay for Saturday as well, even though we'd initially been told we didn't need to stay an extra day beyond our booking. The receptionist called the owner and spoke to him in the regional dialect. From her body language, it seemed she was telling him we couldn't afford to stay longer, and the call ended with her seemingly laughing at us. That was very inappropriate. As a senior physician at a large hospital, I could tell you that money isn't everything. They should learn to be more polite to their customers.

We loved the romantic room, and the food and wines were good. The staff were friendly, and the garden was lovely, with two pools, wellness facilities, and a fitness area. We had a great time!

The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the food was excellent quality. Service was friendly and professional, though there were a few hiccups that the staff made up for. We'll give it another try.

The kitchen was world class, compliments to chef phillip. The front desk was wonderful, and the house had a warm, welcoming feel.
