The apartment is in a fantastic neighbourhood, and it’s quiet, clean, and a decent size. But there are a lot of odd omissions: no bedside lamps, a terrible mattress, no side table by the sofa, and windows that only partly work. The tiny balcony is cluttered with mop buckets and HVAC equipment. There’s no salt or pepper, and somehow it’s the only apartment in Italy without a drying rack. The host refused to provide one, saying previous guests had broken them, so there was no way to dry clothes. With all that, the price doesn’t feel as good as it first seemed.

The neighbourhood was so peaceful, but stepping outside put everything we needed right there: bars, supermarkets, shops, and pharmacies. Turn the corner and you’re in the city centre. We were happy with our choice and with our visit to Parma, which felt like a city made for both adults and children. The nearest parking lot is a ten-minute walk away, and street parking is for residents only. We stayed for ten days in May. The house was new, clean, and had all the comforts we needed. We had a wonderful time and hope to return.
