Hotel Verdi Boutique Hotel

The staff were nice, and the room was what you’d expect from a four-star place. Breakfast was good too. The town is an easy walk away. I’d stay here again.

We only stayed one night, in a Junior Suite overlooking the park, but we liked the hotel and would recommend it. The staff were kind and helpful, with plenty of suggestions for restaurants, activities, and things to see nearby. I’d read some reviews mentioning an unpleasant elevator smell and unfriendly staff, but we didn’t encounter either. Also, I’d accidentally booked the wrong check-in and check-out dates. One quick email sorted it out, so thanks for that.

The rooms were clean, but noisy, and the furniture feels outdated. The air conditioning didn’t work. For me this is a two-star place at best, nowhere near a four-star hotel. Breakfast was shockingly bad, and when I promptly told them I couldn’t give a high rating because of its poor quality, the staff were rude to us. On the last day of our trip, breakfast hadn’t been prepared. They then tried to make us feel guilty for criticizing it. They don’t take constructive feedback well and treated us unpleasantly. I won’t return to this cluttered place. Management asks guests to rate the hotel highly while not meeting four-star standards. Their reply was laughable too. It’s hard to believe they take guests seriously when we say it isn’t a four-star hotel and the breakfast is among the worst. What a shame. This was the worst hotel ever for me. Looking at my review history, I’m fair to people. I wish I hadn’t booked here, but this is my honest review of the service.

The old villa has clearly aged, though the rooms are fairly comfortable. You can hear all the noise from neighboring rooms because they aren’t soundproofed. Breakfast is very poor, with low-quality products, and the quality overall is still very bad. What a shame. The hotel’s in a good spot in central Parma. The price is reasonable when there aren’t events on, but for the food fair in Parma I was quoted five times the usual amount. I wouldn’t come back under any circumstances.
