Il Poggiolo

The setting is incredibly beautiful, and the hosts are absolutely wonderful. They speak English very well. I highly recommend booking half board, or at least having dinner there. The food was incomparable!

We loved the lovely meals, made with fresh produce from the garden and served at thoughtfully set tables with music, good wine and a cheerful atmosphere. Breakfast included plenty of homemade biscuits, jam and cakes. Raffaella and Antonia were so kind and helpful, and even treated us to cacio e pepe and tiramisù, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Giotto, the happy little dog and mascot of Il Poggiolo, was always there to greet us. The property is beautiful, tucked into the green Umbrian hills, with four carefully furnished apartments. Ours had a private terrace and a wonderful view. It’s a great base for visiting Orvieto and other places in Umbria. We had a lovely experience and would absolutely recommend it. We had a wonderful ten days here with our two dogs. The apartment was roomy and comfortable, and the private terrace was splendid. It’s peaceful and quiet, just right for relaxing. We split our time between unwinding by the beautiful pool and exploring the region, which was easy to reach from this well-placed spot. The food and wine were excellent. Thanks to Raffaella and Antonia for taking care of everything we needed, while managing the agriturismo with such discretion and good taste.

Raffaella and Antonia made us feel at home and were attentive without ever intruding. They were warm with our children too, and Giotto was a charming companion. We spent a week at this wonderful farmhouse, with gorgeous scenery and a relaxed feel. Our clean, comfortable apartment had a kitchenette, and the outdoor areas were well kept and tastefully furnished. The clean pool has a breathtaking view. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious, made with authentic products. We really hope to see you again soon!
