Di Colle in Colle

The sunrise and sunset views felt almost unreal, and the scenery alone is a 5+. The setting is lovely, though getting there takes a confident driver. We hired drivers for our daily outings, which worked well. There’s no food within walking distance besides the onsite restaurant, which I believe only opens for groups. Our room had no balcony, but the views through several windows were beautiful. It was spacious, with plenty of bathroom counter room, a mini fridge, a teapot, assorted teas, instant coffee, and robes. The drawback was the bugs in the room and bathroom. They looked like stinkbugs but didn’t smell when killed, and we dealt with at least six a day that we could reach. I think they came through the windows, since two had no screens. My roommate wasn’t bothered, but I was. I suspect the owners would have dealt with it if I’d raised it with them, so don’t let it put you off. Service was excellent, and the room was cleaned when we asked. I’d recommend the place for a genuine Tuscan experience.

We had dinner here two nights running and still remember some of the best dishes of our trip. Giulio’s vineyard wines are special, too. He and the entire staff made us feel so welcome, and our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The farm and views around Di Colle in Colle are stunning. We’re looking forward to coming back.

We loved the intimate fine dining restaurant, where the small menu is carefully thought out and the dishes are freshly made with local ingredients. We tried the tasting menu one night and it was delicious. Breakfast was a treat as well, with fruit, baked goods, meats, cheeses, and cooked eggs. The vineyard wines, in red, white, rose, and sparkling, are delicious, and their olive oil with homemade bread was a special touch. Our two-bedroom villa was bright and clean, with a terrace and room for both sun and shade. We barely used its kitchen because the restaurant was so good. The panoramic view over vineyards and olive groves toward Lake Trasimeno and the hills is beautiful. From the moment we arrived, Di Colle in Colle felt like the Italian countryside we’d hoped for. Giulio and his team were warm and attentive throughout, and we’re already planning another visit next year.

We spent a week at the lovely house on the Di Colle in colle estate, with vineyards and olive trees all around. The views were breathtaking, the food and wine were delicious and high quality, and the friendly staff took great care of us. Every part of the accommodation felt thoughtfully handled. A perfect 10/10 for us. We’ll be back, keep up the great work!
