Hotel Lidò

We spent seven days at hotel Lido, and the staff were very accommodating. Passignano Sul Trasimeno is a lovely quaint town, and the hotel is centrally located with a great lake view. I'd definitely pay extra for that view. Our room was very clean, and the shutters helped block out both sunlight and heat. The air conditioning took a while to cool the room, which was hard for us since we're used to cooler air. You need to borrow an iron. Breakfast was a very good Italian spread, and the coffee machine was easy to use with lots of options.

The location is brilliant, and the pool was lovely and refreshing. There's a great bar and ice cream shop right beside it, run by the hotel. Inside, the rooms are basic and small, and some things need attention, like the plugs and my broken mini fridge. The place could use a refresh. We could hear rats in the vents during the day. It didn't bother us much, but I know it would really bother plenty of people. It's fine for a night or two at most, very basic.

The rooms were a decent size, but the bathroom was small and the shower cubicle tiny. The water kept changing temperature on its own, which was annoying. My room beside the lift was noisy, and I barely slept. The carpets in the shared corridor were a bit dirty, and the outside of the lake-facing windows looked as if they hadn't been cleaned for a while. Food was okay, but nothing special. I was on a Just You holiday, so the hotel had been arranged in advance.

We stayed here on the night of August 29-30, 2022, as part of our drive back to Rome. It was our last night in Italy, and I thought staying by the lake would be nice. The hotel was clean and well kept, with parking on site at no extra charge, which was a big plus. There's a pleasant boardwalk nearby, along with lots of restaurants and gelato stands. Breakfast was included and had plenty of options. The pool is off the hotel grounds, across the lot, so you have to go outside to get to it. And in the evening there were swarms of bugs and mosquitoes. Staff warned us to keep the doors and windows shut, but a few still got into the room and made for a strange night's sleep. The hotel is nice enough, but in my opinion the algae in the bay and the insects don't justify the room rate.
