Hotel Villa Paradiso

Breakfast was very good, and everything was kept clean during our two-day stay. The buffet wasn’t restaurant-level food, as you’d expect, so bear that in mind. We never got around to using the pool. There was live music one evening, and the English-speaking staff made communication easy.

The staff were lovely, and the garden area was nice, but the food was awful. The walk into town was too difficult for us, especially with my husband’s limited mobility, and there were no taxis. They need a transfer (navetta) vehicle. They also need to rethink the food completely. The bananas in the photo say it all. This was my second stay with Blu Hotels, and I won’t be going back. At least this place was better than the one on Lake Garda.

Breakfast had a good range of options. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the service was efficient and genuinely helpful, always with a smile.

The location is incredible, in the middle of Tuscany and close to Lake Trasimeno, but the rest of the hotel fell short of what I expected from somewhere advertised as four stars. The room felt very old, the bathroom hadn’t been renovated, and the shower was terrible. The corridors also make it feel as though you’re constantly walking through service areas. Reception was unwelcoming and overly matter-of-fact, with little sense of customer care. One odd detail: pool towels aren’t allowed unless you rent one at reception. This is not a four-star hotel.
